Storytellers and historical reenactors will celebrate the heritage of Newkirk, OK, and the life of town icon Charlie Adams at the 15th annual Charlie Adams Day festival. Thanks to a grant from Oklahoma Humanities, nine storytellers and reenactors will portray citizens from the early days of Newkirk and Kay County. Festivalgoers will see portrayals of historical characters who were contemporaries of the legendary Charlie Adams. The free festival also features live music, children's games and activities, a barbecue contest, a fast-draw competition, Dutch oven cooking demonstration, arts and craft booths, and a classic car show.
