2013 Oklahoma Chautauqua: The Roaring Twenties
June 11 - 15, 2013
Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center, Humphrey Village
507 South 4th, Enid
The 1920s was the decade of American opulence and cultural shifting. It "roared" in large measure because America was caught in the grips of a titanic cultural shift - when the forces of tradition battled it out with the forces of modernism. This decade was not just fun and frivolity, but struggled with deeper social and cultural forces reworking society.
The 2013 Oklahoma Chautauqua is pleased to present audiences with a chance to meet five of history's most illustrious characters: Bessie Coleman, Babe Ruth, Will Rogers, Henry Ford, and Zelda Fitzgerald. Evening performances and day time workshops are free and open to the public.
