The Trail Dance Film Festival provides a forum to showcase films and introduce filmmakers to Oklahoma’s emergent film industry. The event includes presentations, seminars with film veterans, and more. On January 18th, 11 a.m., Michelle M. Martin of Discovering History, LLC will address the topic “Research and Authentication of Period Costume for Historical Re-enactment.” Martin has worked as a consultant on re-enactment films and television programs and will explain the importance of historical accuracy when choosing and designing costumes for film. Martin earned a master’s degree in history from Western Michigan University and has worked as a living history volunteer at Fort Scott National Historic Site, Fort Larned National Historic Site, Fort Riley, Constitution Hall State Historic Site, Mine Creek Battlefield State Historic Site, Wilson’s Creek National Military Park, and Pea Ridge National Military Park.
