Beavers Bend Folk Festival and Craft Show
November 9 - 11, 2012
Forest Heritage Center Museum, Beavers Bend State Park
The Beavers Bend Folk Festival is a showcase for turn-of-the-century art and crafts. Approximately 70 craftsmen, historians and artisans will feature skills such as candle making, woodturning, lye soap making, papermaking, knife making and blacksmithing. Throughout the three-day festival, folk ensembles set the mood with the twang of banjos, the wail of fiddles and the ring of dulcimer strings as they perform a variety of old time folk selections, gospel and Scottish American music passed down through generations. The festival offers visitors a rare occasion to gather, slow down and enjoy the old-fashioned way of life that no longer exists.
