March 14, 2019 -- The Destruction of the American Bison

Andrew Isenberg, the Hall Distinguished Professor of American History at the University of Kansas, will examine the decline of the North American bison population from an estimation 30 million in 1800 to fewer than 1,000 a century later. Isenberg's compelling explanation acknowledges the interaction between a dynamic natural environment and the human societies that inhabited it.

This event is free and open to the public. All attendees will be invited to view the Bison exhibition at the conclusion of each program for no additional fee.
