This screening of an hour-long program produced for public television examines the intersection of politics and art through the meeting of Johann Sebastian Bach and Frederick the Great, King of Prussia. This famous meeting resulted in one of Bach's masterpieces, A Musical Offering. The film is seen through the eyes of Bach's son, Carl, who was employed by Frederick as a court musician. This documentary was produced by Eugene Enrico, the Ruth Verne Davis Reaugh Professor of Music at OU, and this screening is free and open to the public.
