Dr. Deborah Willis will give a lecture on the current exhibition Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic.  Stemming from her essay, "In Pursuit of Beauty," Dr. Willis will be speaking about Wiley's representation of black women in portraiture.

Deborah Willis, Ph.D, is University Professor and Chair of the Department of Photography & Imaging at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. A recipient of Guggenheim, Fletcher, and MacArthur fellowships, Dr. Willis is a leading scholar in the investigation and recovery of the legacy of African-American photography.
