Cameron University will present a day of workshops addressing Oklahoma’s cultural and historical diversity and how it provides economic opportunities to improve the quality of life of the region. Speakers will include Dr. Sterling Evans, Dr. Joe Watkins, and Dr. Cynthia Rogers of the University of Oklahoma, and Dr. Lance Janda of Cameron University. Topics of discussion will include:

•  The historical development of Oklahoma
•  Influences of Native Americans and the military on Oklahoma
•  An historical overview of economic development strategies and outcomes in Oklahoma
•  A panel discussion on what defines Southwest Oklahoma culturally and historically; the economic dimensions of the region; and linkages among cultural, historical, and economic development.
