Charlie's Storytellers

Event Details

While the heritage of each rural community is unique, the individual stories of the citizens and residents combine to make up the heritage of that community.  Newkirk Community Historical Society will present six performances of historic community members who impacted Newkirk.  These include: Juhree Vanderpool, granddaughter of Charlie Adams; Antone Horinek, farmer; Wanda Kekahbah Stone, first woman Kanza tribal CEO; Jesse Feagins, stone quarry operator; Anna Willson, early librarian; and Defense of Jackson Burns, pioneer lawyer.
