Delbert Anderson: The Intersection of Jazz and Native American Music

Event Details

Delbert Anderson will give a talk at 2:00 p.m, followed by Q&A about his work and the historical pathways of Dine traditional music and Jazz.  He is a supporter of Indigenous music and its emergence as a robust musical foundation within American music-making.  While its most traditional instruments are voices, drums, and flutes, contemporary Native American music embraces modern instruments and languages while often maintaining tradtional content and themes.  The Delbert Anderson Trio will be performing later that night as part of the Levitt AMP Clinton Music Series at 7:00 p.m.
