The Orphan Trains to Oklahoma program combines live music, storytelling, videos, an informal lecture, and an audience Q&A to tell the stories of the largest migration of children in history.

The story of the Orphan Trains concerns the largest migration of children from the pvercrowded wast to the developing heartland, from rejection to assimilation in the fabric of the American Dream. Between 1854 and 1929, over 250,000 orphans and unwanted children were sent out of New York on trains to find new homes in every state in the union. Orphan Trains to Oklahoma offers free public presentations of the multimedia progeam "Riders of the Orphan Train" to areas where children got off of these trains. The program combines live music, storytelling, video interviews with archival photographs, audience discussion and spontaneous oral histories from audience members.
